FOUR RECOVERY PILLARS
A BRIDGE TO LASTING RECOVERY
Because sober houses serve as such a valuable bridge between rehabilitation and independent living, we are careful to implement the four pillars of recovery. You might still face challenges maintaining sobriety, but for those who choose to engage in making themselves a better life, sober housing offers a supportive and structured environment using the four pillars.

A WORD FROM SAMHSA
ON SOBER
LIVING HOUSES
"To maximize the beneficial effects of Sober Living Homes, [we} as a service provider, create a physical setting, social environment, and shared sense of responsibility among residents that supports recovery (Wittman, et al., 2014). Fundamental characteristics of the social model approach include (1) a goal of abstinence from alcohol and illicit drugs, peer support, resident input into house decisions, and resident participation in household tasks such as cooking and cleaning. In addition, residents are required or strongly encouraged to (2) attend mutual help groups, (3) find a job, and (4) guided toward professional health providers and mental health counselors."
