Neil Becker
I primarily work with adults and young adults suffering from depression, anxiety, and/or addiction, in addition to those struggling with relational/communication issues. I take a highly personal, strengths-based, positive approach tailored to each client's individual needs. In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which directly targets negative thoughts, I use an acceptance-based approach by encouraging clients to accept, rather than negate, current thoughts patterns so that clients can move toward their values and start living meaningful and productive lives.
As an EMDR-trained therapist, I also use EMDR to reprocess a client's maladaptive cognitions so that they become healthy and adaptive through gentle guided eye movement. This eliminates the negative impact of trauma including those resulting in PTSD.
We believe in each person’s capacity for growth and change – individuals enter the world with a full capacity for emotional wellness. The symptoms and behaviors that cause concern are often an interruption of this capacity. Our task is to support the person’s thrust for life and growth, in order to return to their rightful path.

If you are feeling uneasy and fearful, if you are constantly worrying, feeling "lost" or "directionless", you are not alone. Its hard to ask for help but you have come this far. Take the next step and reach out.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience with young adults and adults. I am a "generalist" but my specialties include loss (trauma, grief, untimely death including loss of children, terminal illness, grief), developmental trauma, life transitions, as well as anxiety and depression.
My therapeutic style is authentic, empathic and interactional. Find a therapist that "fits" you. If the fit between therapist and client is right, progress towards healing and resolution is much more seamless.
EMDR
We're healing using many types of therapy. One that we get many questions on is EMDR. So here is a meta analysis to review.
