RIGHT PATH

Why Choose Right Path House as Your Sober House?

WHY CHOOSE RIGHT PATH?

More than a place to stay, we offer a supportive home where recovery is shared, trust is built, and lasting connections take root. We believe that "together we stay sober" and so, we structured our day to embody community through workshops, nightly dinners, and an in-house 12-step meeting. We're fostering resilience and transformation with our wrap-around clinical resources and also at the horse farm, at the gym, or at the sound retreat. They uplift every aspect of life—physical, emotional, and social. Encouragement and accountability empower residents to thrive. Here, milestones are celebrated, and challenges are met together. Recovery becomes a process and way of life.

YOUR RECOVERY HAS TO BE FIRST

While we were researching how to offer something that would be sustainable after people left us, we found that long-term recovery was highly personalized. An individualized clinical program was very important.

Sober Living Houses aren’t just about cooking, cleaning and going to meetings; they’re about building the confidence and actual skills needed for a sustainable and connected sober life post-sober house.

Right Path House offers a structured sober living model that blends community support, recovery coaching, and wellness activities. Compared to other sober living options, it stands out in several ways:

More structure than standard sober houses but not smothering

Many sober houses provide a clean and substance-free environment but have fewer formal requirements. Right Path House asks our house members for daily 12-step meetings, regular coaching, nightly sharing dinner, obtain employment after IOP, contribute their time and effort to the house, and, whenever time allows, to join in the peer-driven wellness activities. We set out to reinforce the evidence-backed idea that recovery is connection.

A chance to grow your personal responsibility

Improving personal responsibility is about developing habits that reinforce accountability and self-sufficiency. It's a mindset that people recognize and respect. When you own your choices by acknowledging that your actions and decisions shape your life, you'll find yourself much calmer and able to avoid blaming the circumstances or others. You're beginning to take control of what you can influence and nothing more. You will find yourself following through on commitments because you're making realistic promises to yourself and others. If you say you’ll do something, ensure it gets done.

We include the Brain when we emphasize wellness

Like many sober homes that focus solely on living a full life in sobriety, we are digging into the 12 steps and, through our nearby therapists, encouraging support for deeper issues. Because some of us find it difficult to not be triggered in meetings or not get enough out of therapy, Right Path House incorporates neurofeedback, equine-assisted experiences, sound baths, and art workshops to support emotional regulation and cognitive function. These are simply adjunct recovery tools, aiming to enhance both what you are getting out of meetings and what you are able to explore during therapy. Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, monitors brainwave activity and provides real-time feedback to help individuals shift from dysregulated patterns associated with addiction to more stable states.

HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT

THIS IS WHAT WE STAND FOR

Combine both professional and self-help recovery resources
  • Abundance of 12-step meetings: Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Branford, and Westbrook - we are our own 12-step district

  • Clinical Addiction Specialists: individual therapists for addiction or EMDR

  • PHP, IOP in Dual Diagnosis and Mental Health: we follow the recommendations of the referring professionals

Wrap around the amenities and therapeutic activities
  • Gym Membership: at Coastal Fitness that offers yoga, Barre and Pilates and a sauna

  • Equine Experiences: at Guilford Riding Academy or Westbrook Hunt Club.

  • Beach. Miles of it.

  • Trails for Hiking and Biking

  • Paved trails for roller skating

Make teamwork and cooperation our priority

Getting a sponsor and working the steps along with sharing household responsibilities builds interpersonal skills and reinforces how important it is to work collaboratively with others—a valuable aspect of not only of community living but also of life. A sense of ownership, pride, and belonging grows when contributing to the upkeep of the peace and enjoyment of the living space. Together, we're creating that home-like environment that enhances recovery.
