OUR WOMEN'S HOUSE ON THE HILL
WELCOME HOME
We sit atop Acorn Hill in Madison, Connecticut. Our town has is an indie movie theater, 8 restaurants, 4 coffee shops, R.J Julia's Bookstore, Starbucks and a Stop and Shop grocery store. We're less than a mile from Hammonasett State Park, the train station and on the bus line. The beach is a short walk. Life's about to get a whole lot better now that you're sober.

























Details, Details, Details
Right Path Sober House is a 6300 square foot inn in Madison, Connecticut for women. Started in 1918, there are two perfectly executed additions in 1986 and 2016. It's wonderfully in town and walkable to the beach, Hammonasett State Park, both an PHP and IOP, individual clinical specialists, and the train station. We offer private and shared rooms with private baths and four working fireplaces. It's an elegant home with hardwood floors, curated antiques, over 60 windows, three lounge areas and a fully equipped chef's kitchen. There's also a cottage with an art studio and garages to house the bicycles and kayaks. It has always been used as an inn, it's just a sober inn now!

HAMMONASETT BEACH
The trailhead is one mile walk or bike from our front door. 2.4 miles of paved trails to walk, rollerblade or bike. 2 miles of beach and over 1000 acres of preservation land to explore.

CHATFIELD HOLLOW PARK
Chatfield Hollow State Park has wonderful hiking trails, pretty ponds, nice picnic areas, interesting caves and rock outcroppings, and even a covered bridge. It's 7 miles away.

SCHOOL GRADUATION
Work or school, there are opportunities of every kind.

KITCHEN
Our kitchen is state of the art. We take turns cooking for each other every night. Don't ever worry, your coach can help you. It turns out that you'll cook dinner once every two weeks. It is actually cost effective for healthy eating. For breakfast and lunch, you're on your own.

FIREPLACES
There are four working fireplaces.

MAIN GATHERING ROOM
In 1925, when the house originally opened, this was the main tearoom. Our workshops and 12-step meetings are held here. Big and bright, it welcomes you.

DINNING ROOM
We take turns cooking dinner for each other. We're happy to help with ideas and preparations. The dining room sits 14. if you are working or in therapy, we'll save you a plate.

THE PORCH
Room for 14 to eat, 2 grills and a canopy of summer time greenery.

HORSE PROGRAM
Our horse program has three tiers: ground work, equine therapy, and riding lessons.

THE SECOND LOUNGE
The dining room has a sitting area with a fireplace and TV. Overlooks the backyard and porch.

THE BREAKFAST SUN ROOM
With lots of light. Curl up in one of the two comfy chairs.

12-STEP WORKSHOPS
90 and 90 (daily) 12-step meetings are required. After that, 5 per week. We offer recovery workshops five days a week.

THE BROOK 302
Double room with twin sleigh beds on third floor. Shares a bath with roommate and one other person. Overlooks the side yard trees and stone wall.

THE RIVER 204
Private room with private bath overlooking the marsh and the back yard. Queen size bed on the second floor.

HAMMO BIKE TRAILS
A destination unto themselves, great paved trails for roller blading, roller skating and biking. The trails are one of a kind and not to be missed.

MADISON
Home of R.J. Julia's, the famous bookstore. Famous authors come to read their works every week. It's a popular cafe for a great breakfast or lunch!

THE PERCH 301
Private with full size wrought Iron bed on third floor. Shares a bath with two other people. Has a seating area with couch looking toward the morning sun. Windows overlook the side yard woods.

THE MARSH 203
Private with full size four poster bed and desk on the second floor. Private full bath. Room with sunshine overlooking the marsh in the winter and the front yard.

BIKES
Bikes are stored in the garage. Please bring your own helmet! You can bring your own bike. We're relatively hill-less, so it's easy to get around.

KAYAKS
We have kayaks to borrow and we'll transport them for you to one of the numerous rivers to float around in. Please bring a life jacket or use one of ours.

ART
From our dedicated art supply hutch, we do various art projects every month. We also visit the ceramics store to hand paint a piece, or one of the many shops to admire the work of the locals. We make rainy day trips to one of the many museums.

GYM MEMBERSHIP
Your stay with us includes a gym membership at Coastal Fitness. Enjoy the sauna or take one of the many classes in yoga, barre, Pilates, and core-strength. The gym is immaculately clean. We include this membership at no additional cost. However, if you opt for a personal trainer, it is at your own cost.
